For the past few months, my mom's been living with me and my super tolerant roommate while she tried to find a job and a place to live.  For the most part, everything was a lot smoother than expected, but it was still really tense as we thought nothing would come together for her because of one disappointment after another.  But finally, lightning ( Read more... )

I had a dream last night about going to Paris with my roommate and my mother. In it, I actually threw a glass of water at some Sorbonne-type art students when an insult about me being "large and unaware of my space". With the move to Texas, I was able to keep my Seattle job and work from home on the understanding that I would be able to pull off all of the Excel miracles I did while I was in-house and pending a three month review, I'll probably be able to keep the job.  Which is nice because I like working from home.  It's a little bit of a dream come true, ( Read more... )
